How can I get a tourist visa to visit Uganda?

If you wish to visit Uganda, you must apply to the diplomatic corps of the Ugandan state, such as UGANDA’s embassy or consulate, , to apply for a visa to Uganda.

The visa holder from the State of Uganda may enter the countries of Kenya and Rwanda according to the agreement between the three countries (East African Tourism Visa).

What documents do you need to obtain a visa for Uganda?

To obtain a tourist visa for Uganda, you need the following documents:

A passport valid for at least 6 months with a copy attached

Complete the application form for the visa application

Two photographs with the same passport image specifications with a white background

Proof of payment of visa fees (fees generally cost $100)

Conduct a personal interview with Uganda’s diplomatic corps in your country

Book a hotel or call from the person or agency that will receive you

All travelers to Uganda must have a valid yellow fever vaccination card.

Visa duration: 02 working days.

The documents submitted are translated into English in one of the  accredited translation agencies

ATTENTION: The interview may result in the rejection of the application even if all documents have been submitted.

List of countries exempt from visa fees to enter Uganda:

If you are a citizen of the following countries, you do not pay for visas when entering   Uganda

COMESA (Angola, Eritrea, Malawi, Madagascar, Seychelles, Swaziland, Zambia, Comoros, Kenya, Mauritius, Zimbabwe)

EAC (Tanzania, Rwanda, Kenya and Burundi)

(A) Antigua and Barbuda, Fiji, Grenada, Lesotho, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Grenada, Vanuatu, Cyprus, Bahamas, Belize, Gambia, Jamaica, Solomon Islands

Malta, Singapore, Saint Vincent and Tonga.

Each visitor concerned must be in possession of a valid passport / travel document that is valid for more than one year.

All incoming visitors will be required to comply with other immigration procedures, including the provision of required biometric information.

– If you wish to stay longer than the specified period, you must request an increase in the duration of the visit by the Immigration Office in Kampala or the respective regional offices before the expiry of the first visit visa.
